REEDSPORT, Ore. — All lanes are now open on Highway 38 between Reedsport and Scottsburg near milepost 12 after a boulder and trees slid from the hillside above, coming to rest across the lanes of traffic.
According to Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT), the boulder was 10-12 feet wide. ODOT crews who responded to the incident were able to push the boulder off to the side, allowing traffic to resume in both lanes along that stretch of highway.
Road crews will return next week after the Easter weekend to remove the boulder and other debris, according to ODOT.
