Evacuations and road closures for September 2020 fires

Multiple areas in Jackson, Josephine, Klamath, and Siskiyou counties remain under evacuation orders or warnings after winds spurred a flurry of wildfires throughout Oregon and California.

Almeda Drive Fire (Jackson County)

  • Level 3 "GO" evacuation orders: None at this time.
  • Level 2 "Be Set" evacuation warnings: None at this time.
  • Level 1 "Be Ready" evacuation notices: None at this time.
  • Road Closures: None at this time.

South Obenchain Fire (Jackson County)

  • Level 3 "GO" evacuation orders: None at this time.
  • Level 2 "Be Set" evacuation warnings: Only areas immediately around the fire, stretching east from Obenchain Road to areas south of Butte Falls.
  • Level 1 "Be Ready" evacuation notices: All areas immediately around the fire stretching southeast from Shady Cove to include Butte Falls and along the north side of Highway 140 east of Brownsboro — with the exception of the Level 3 zone indicated above.
  • Road Closures: None at this time.

Slater Fire (Siskiyou & Josephine County)

  • Level 3 “GO”: 10,000 block of Takilma Road south to Oregon State line AND residences on Page Creek Road.
  • Level 2 “Be Set”: US Hwy 199 from Milepost 37 to the Oregon State Line. Includes Elk Creek Rd, Dwight Creek Rd, Althouse Creek area, Takilma Rd from 7,000 block to 10,000 block and Happy Camp Rd to Milepost 3.
  • Level 1 “Be Ready”: ALL residences on the NORTH side of Caves Hwy 46 from the WEST end of Holland Loop Road to Grayback Road.
  • Road Closures: None at this time.

Two Four Two Fire (Klamath County)

  • Level 3 "GO" evacuation orders: None at this time.
  • Level 2 "Be Set" evacuation warnings:  None at this time.
  • Level 1 "Be Ready" evacuation notices: None at this time.
  • Road Closures: None at this time.

The Red Cross has established an evacuation center at Kla-Mo-Ya south of Chiloquin. Evacuees or those with questions are advised to not call 911 unless it is an emergency, but instead go to Kla-Mo-Ya in person. The Klamath County Fairgrounds are also available for evacuees with trailers or animals. RV hook-ups and animal holding facilities are available.


Brattain Fire (Lake County)

  • Level 3 "GO" evacuation orders: None at this time.
  • Level 2 "Be Set" evacuation warnings: None at this time.
  • Level 1 "Be Ready" evacuation notices: Highway 21 from Red House Lane (north of Paisley) north to Forest Road 29, also known as Government Harvey.

The Red Cross has an evacuation area at the Lake County Fairgrounds in Lakeview (1900 North 4th St.). There will be fire information there as well.
