WEED, Calif. — The Siskiyou County Sheriff's Office has once more issued an evacuation warning due to flash flooding in the Lava Fire burn scar, along Whitney Creek.
The warning covered areas of Juniper Terrace Road and Rising Hill Road in the Mount Shasta Vista Subdivision due to a flash flood from Whitney Creek.
The warning could last for upwards of 12 hours, according to the Sheriff's Office.
Whitney Creek flooded Tuesday night, prompting a similar evacuation warning. The Siskiyou County Office of Emergency Services captured video of boulders being washed downstream in the swollen, rushing creek. Other flooding and slide impacts around Mt. Shasta have been discovered in the days since.
