ALBANY, Ore. -- The estranged husband of a missing Albany woman was arrested for murder on Tuesday after police say they recovered a circular saw contaminated with her blood and other "bodily tissue."

Craig Lazon was charged with murder in the death of Tiffany Lazon, 37.

Tiffany was last seen around Christmas 2019. Police started considering the case a death investigation in January.

Lazon has been a person of interest in the case from the start. He was initially in jail facing charges of second-degree animal neglect and animal abandonment, involving Tiffany's cat.

On Tuesday, investigators learned Lazon had borrowed a battery-operated circular saw from a friend and returned it days later. The owner reached out to police and turned over the saw.

Upon examination, the Oregon State Crime Lab found bodily tissue and blood on the saw. They performed a DNA test on the tissue and matched it to Tiffany's DNA, police said.

Lazon was arrested at about 4:30 p.m.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information should contact detectives at 541-917-7686.
