GRANTS PASS, Ore. -- If you're heading out to grab a cup of coffee today, consider going to Dutch Bros. Your cup of coffee can mean more than a caffeine kick today.

Dutch Bros will donate one dollar for each cup of coffee you buy today. They'll be donating those dollars to local organizations that help kids. Stores in Jackson and Josephine County will be helping the Boys & Girls Club of the Rogue Valley. Stores in Klamath County will be donating to the Klamath Crisis Center. They've donated  more than $2 million since they started the event.

You can buy a cup of any type of drink in any size or flavor. People who work at Dutch Bros said that customers often buy an extra cup of coffee once they realize it's Buck for Kids Day. Dutch Bros said their mission is to be more than just a coffee shop.

"We're a relationship business that minors in coffee," said Mason Smith, the operator of Dutch Bros stores in Grants Pass. "The coffee is just to get the customers to come in, but the relationship is what gets them to come back. It's the relationships with the customers, the givebacks that make us who we are. The coffee is just a bonus to get you in the door."

Dutch Bros works with the Boys & Girls Club of the Rogue Valley all year round. Their logo is even in the Grants Pass club's kitchen. Stores in Jackson and Josephine County will donate the dollars raised to the Boys & Girls Club's after school program.

These programs are free to middle and high schoolers. They can go to art classes or homework help sessions after school. Kids can even join sports teams.

The Boys & Girls Club served more than 9,000 Rogue Valley students last year. People who work there said they want the club to be a safe space where students can grow.

"What we do is provide kids with the tools to succeed in life," said Executive Director Greg Roe. "Whether that be through education, social behavior programming or just having fun. That's what we're about. That's how we're changing lives with these kids."

The Boys & Girls Club in Grants Pass is only a short walk from a Dutch Bros store. Students will come out to support the event after school.
