SELMA, Ore. — At least two people are injured after a head-on crash along Highway 199 in Josephine County on Wednesday, according to the Illinois Valley Fire District.
IVFD said that fire crews, paramedics, law enforcement and ODOT traffic crews responded just after noon to reports of a two-vehicle crash. The location of the crash was just south of where Gold Canyon Drive branches from Highway 199, almost halfway between Selma and Kerby.
Units arrived at the scene to find both lanes of Highway 199 blocked by the two smashed vehicles. Both drivers were taken to the hospital by AMR "with injuries," though the extent of their injuries is unknown at present.
Traffic along the highway was later opened up to one lane. The cause of the crash was not immediately known.
This is a developing story and will be updated with more details as they emerge.
