LAKEVIEW, Ore. — Oregon State Police says that a Lakeview woman was killed in a rollover crash on Monday morning. The driver of the vehicle faces potential charges for manslaughter and driving under the influence.
State troopers and emergency crews responded around 9:45 a.m. to Highway 395E, a few miles south of Lakeview, following reports of a crash.
According to a preliminary investigation by OSP, 22-year-old Daniel Decker of Lakeview was driving a Ford F-350 truck and flatbed trailer northbound when he failed to negotiate a corner, over-corrected, and rolled.
The agency said that 37-year-old Clarea Lasley, also of Lakeview, was a passenger in the truck. She did not survive the crash.
Paramedics loaded Decker into an ambulance and rushed him to the hospital. He was later flown to St. Charles Medical Center in Bend for treatment.
OSP said that Decker will be referred to the Lake County District Attorney's Office for DUII and Manslaughter charges.
