CAMAS VALLEY, Ore. — A man from rural Douglas County was arrested by Sheriff's Office detectives on Wednesday, accused of sexually abusing a child.
Someone reported the "possible sex crimes against a child" to the Sheriff's Office Investigations Division in late November. After a thorough investigation, the agency said that it found 37-year-old Jeffrey Aaron Herberger of Camas Valley had sexually assaulted a child "known to him."
Detectives interviewed Herberger on Wednesday before taking him into custody. He was then taken to the Douglas County Jail, charged with 3rd Degree Sexual Abuse and Harassment.
