GRANTS PASS, Ore. — Police took a Grants Pass man into custody after responding to a "dumpster fire" behind a Domino's Pizza, according to Grants Pass Department of Public Safety (GPDPS).
Both police and firefighters responded at 11:15 p.m. to reports of a dumpster fire behind the Domino's Pizza at 407 NE E Street. After extinguishing the flames, investigators determined that the fire was an arson—one that had caused about $1,000 worth of damage to the building.
According to GPDPS, detectives later developed leads in the investigation that identified 24-year-old Ricardo Resendez as the suspected arsonist.
Detectives found Resendez on September 4, then interviewed and arrested him. He was lodged in the Josephine County jail on charges of Arson I and Criminal Mischief I.
