WHITE CITY, Ore. — Detectives are looking for help from the public after an apparent "strong-arm robbery" at a cannabis production operation in White City over the weekend, according to a statement from the Jackson County Sheriff's Office (JCSO).
Just after 2 a.m. on Saturday morning, deputies responded to a 911 call from a "property where cannabis production is taking place," reporting an armed robbery.
The occupants told deputies that at least two armed men wearing dark clothing and tactical gear forced their way in and restrained them. The robbers then reportedly stole property from the house and fled the scene before law enforcement arrived. The nature of the stolen item(s) has not yet been disclosed.
Witnesses described the robbers as white or possibly Hispanic men, about six feet tall, wearing the aforementioned dark clothing.
"Detectives say the location was specifically targeted for the robbery; there is no apparent threat to the general public," JCSO said. "No further information is currently available for release due to the ongoing investigation."
Investigators are hoping to hear from anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in the area before or after the incident, or anyone with information relevant to the case. Tips can be directed to Sergeant Jesse Ainsworth at (541) 774-6816, refer to case # 19-5730.
