Police: Man found dead along I-5 had been there 'for some time'

Oregon State Police confirm they are conducting a death investigation along I-5, although many details remain unknown.

TALENT, Ore. —

UPDATE: Investigators with Oregon State Police (OSP) have released additional details on a death investigation that began early Wednesday morning.

Troopers responded to the Sun Crest rest area near milepost 22 at about 3 a.m., finding a dead man under the I-5 overpass. Investigators determined that the body had been there "for some time."

The Oregon State Police Criminal Investigation Division responded and were assisted at the scene by the Jackson County Sheriff's Office.

OSP said that no further information will be released at this time. The dead man has not been identified, nor have there been any other details about the possible circumstances of his death.

INITIAL REPORT: Oregon State Police (OSP) detectives are conducting a death investigation along I-5 near a rest area between Phoenix and Talent, Captain Timothy Fox confirmed on Wednesday morning.

The agency is not releasing any further information at this time, pending investigation.
