GOLD BEACH, Ore. — Curry County public health officials announced a newly confirmed case of the coronavirus on Tuesday, bringing the number of active cases in the county to two. Five other confirmed cases are considered recovered.
"This most recent case was identified by Curry County Public Health as well as Del Norte County Public via contact tracing and investigation," public health administrator Sherrié Ward said. "All investigation and contact tracing associated with this case has been notified, and are self-isolating and being monitored by County Public Health."
Last week, Curry County indicated that a newborn baby had tested positive for COVID-19 before subsequently testing negative. That case is now counted as positive and recovered.
Del Norte County just to the south has seen a spike in positive cases, with 14 new cases over the weekend and three more cases by Tuesday morning. Of Del Norte's 40 cases, seven are considered recovered.
