ASHLAND, Ore. —
UPDATE: ODOT reports that the fire is extinguished, but the northbound slow lane of I-5 will remain closed for a time as fire crews mop-up the area. Delays and congestion are likely to continue.

UPDATE: The slow lane of I-5 northbound is now closed near the Ashland Port of Entry as fire crews respond to the area. ODOT says to watch for reduced visibility and possible fire equipment and personnel working along the side of the roadway.

INITIAL REPORT: Fire crews are responding to "several small grass fires" along I-5 near Ashland, according to the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT).
The agency said that the fires are on the northbound side near the Ashland Port of Entry.
"Watch for emergency crews and possible reduced visibility," ODOT said.
