MEDFORD, Ore. -- As temperatures start to drop, organizations are working together to bring a coat to kids in need.

NewsWatch 12 teams up with several organizations to not only distribute the coats, but also to clean and sort them.

For the coats in Jackson County, Windermere Van Vleet picks up the coats to be cleaned. Then the coats go to Southern Oregon Linen, where they are washed in specialty washers, and hung to dry. Windermere picks them back up, and they are then sorted at the NewsWatch 12 warehouse.

Schools in Jackson county fill out order forms with how many coats it'll need to fill its students' needs.

In Josephine and Klamath County, it's a little different. The Laundry Center handles the cleaning for Klamath County, while Southern Oregon Linen also tackles coats from Josephine County.

Volunteers from Windermere (Klamath) and ReMax (Josephine) bring the coats to partnering organizations:

- Josephine County:

       - Coalition for Kids

-Boys and Girls Clubs of the Rogue Valley in Grants Pass.

-Klamath County:

       -Integral Youth Services

       -Klamath Falls Gospel Mission

       -Klamath Head Start

They identify the children who need a coat most, and pass them along.

You can drop off coats at the red Coats for Kids Campaign barrels through October 25.
