MEDFORD, Ore. -- Medford City Manager Brian Sjothun has announced a Severe Weather Event Declaration. It is effective immediately.
The declaration allows the use of approved severe weather event shelters. The declaration is due to overnight temperatures dropping below freezing.
In response to the declaration, a shelter is being set up for tonight at First Presbyterian Church in Medford. There are 50 beds available, and the shelter will be open from 7:00 P.M. Sunday until 7:00 A.M. on Monday.
First Presbyterian Church is locates at 85 South Holly Street in Medford.
The city of Medford says its following specific guidance from Jackson County officials when it comes to COVID-19.
The Compassion Highway Project is assisting with shelter operations.
