MEDFORD, Ore. — A Central Point man previously accused of distributing child pornography has now been accused of sexually abusing a child after investigators linked him to a victim, according to the Jackson County Sheriff's Office.
Detectives arrested 35-year-old Nathan Dale Wagner on February 11 after a child pornography investigation that began with another man was linked to Wagner, the Sheriff's Office said at the time.
Investigators served a search warrant at Wagner's home in the 3200-block of Edella Avenue in Central Point. He was charged with 16 counts of Encouraging Child Sex Abuse in the Second Degree. After that, the Sheriff's Office continued to look through the evidence they found.
"Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Investigators continued the investigation by attempting to identify an approximately 6-year-old female victim seen in the images taken from digital storage devices," the Sheriff's Office said on Monday.
Now, the agency says, they have identified the victim and brought more charges against Wagner for sexually abusing a child. The crimes are believed to have happened between December of 2016 and June of 2017.
Wagner, who remains in the Jackson County Jail, faces additional charges for Sex Abuse I, Sodomy I, and Unlawful Sexual Penetration.
