CENTRAL POINT, Ore. -- The city of Central Point is bringing recreation directly to its residents with its new Rec & Go Program. It's a van equipped with games and arts and crafts for the whole family.

Throughout the summer, this free program will be making appearances at local parks and neighborhoods to bring game night to families.

"Residents in Central Point love their parks and we love them for that," said Nikki Petersen, coordinator for special events and marketing for Central Point. "Our goal is to always bring something new and exciting. We really want to encourage parents and their kids to come out to the parks together."

Petersen says residents will find giant games like Jenga Connect Four, Yahtzee, and arts and crafts. There's also activities to appeal to an older crowd like flag football, basketball games, soccer games and Spike Ball.

The city will be celebrating the Rec & Go van this morning at 11:30 a.m. at Twin Creeks Park. The first official use of the vehicle will be Wednesday, June 27th at Don Jones Memorial Park and William Mott Memorial Park.
