Britt Announces Guitar Weekend Workshop

Guitar Weekend is a 3-day workshop intended to teach new techniques to guitar players of all skill levels

MEDFORD, Ore. — Guitar players from Southern Oregon and Siskiyou County will get the chance to learn from professional instructors over a period of three days in June. Today Britt Education & Engagement announced their Guitar Weekend, which takes place on June 22 – 24.

The three-day workshop features seven veteran guitar instructors, offering their wisdom on good practice and listening habits, traditional chord progressions, and new rhythmic concepts.

Eight two-hour sessions will cover the techniques of Bossa Nova, Improvisation, Fingerstyle, Blues Slide, Americana, Ragtime Blues, Flamenco and Classical.

Guitar Weekend is geared toward players of a skill levels, ages 13 and above.

The event stems from a partnership between Britt Education & Engagement and Siskiyou Music Project. Hilltop Music Shop will be offering 20 percent off repairs, guitar set-ups and accessories to all registered attendees from 30 days before Guitar Weekend, plus the 30 days following.

Two evening faculty concerts will feature instructor-performers Vicki Genfan and Terry Robb. The cost of attendance is included in the registration price.

Participants may select from different registration options based on their interest and skill level:

Full Weekend Pass: (open to all guitarists ) Adult $249 / Student $149 (must provide student ID at registration)
Auditing Pass: $99 (recommended for those who have just started to play the guitar or who just want to learn more about the history and literature of the guitar)
Location: Rogue Performance Hall, 130 East 8th Street, RCC Building C, Medford
Dates: Friday-Sunday, June 22-24, 2018 – 9:00am-5:00pm
