WHITE CITY, Ore. — The Jackson County Sheriff's Office confirmed on Friday that a body was recovered from Agate Lake following days of search and rescue efforts.
The search for 32-year-old father of three Jeremy Moore began on Monday evening after he slipped beneath the surface while swimming out into the lake. Moore was reported missing and presumed to have drowned.
Search and rescue teams have returned to the lake every day since, with resources from other counties — including an underwater drone from Butte County, California and a human remains detection dog from Lyon County, Nevada — helping out on Thursday.
Jackson County Sheriff's Office spokesman Mike Moran confirmed that a body, believed to be Moore's, was found around 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Oregon State Medical Examiner is working to confirm identification.
NewsWatch 12 spoke to friends and family of Moore on Tuesday. Friends of the Moore family have started a GoFundMe page to raise money for his daughters and fiancée.
