GRANTS PASS, Ore. -- The Active Club is hosting the 60th year of Boatnik this weekend in Grants Pass. Events kick off at 1 p.m. in Riverside Park with Family Day where patrons can pay $2/ride.
The Pass Active Club will donate 100% of its proceeds to local children in various clubs, organizations, and circumstances. Over the course of the five day event, club members are expecting to host close to 100-thousand people. With crowds and big events also comes traffic and street closures.
The Boatnik parade on Saturday will cause the following closures:
-6th Street will be closed to all vehicle traffic from “A” Street to the River.
-The 6th Street (Caveman) Bridge will be closed to traffic during the parade.
-The road closures will be from 8:00 am until after the parade, approximately 1:00 pm.
-No parking will be allowed at 6th Street from just north of “A” Street to the Caveman Bridge and Voorhies between 6th and 7th Streets from Friday, May 25th at midnight until after the parade
Closures will also take place on East Park Street beginning on Friday, May 25th through Monday, May 28th at 9 p.m. Baker Park will be closed to vehicle traffic and boat launching during that time as well.
