BAKER COUNTY, Ore. – Today a Baker County judge heard arguments in a lawsuit against Governor Kate Brown.
The lawsuit states that Gov. Brown did not follow procedures, set forth by the Oregon constitution, when issuing the current executive orders.
Today's hearing pertained to a request for a preliminary injunction, filed by the prosecution. If granted, the current executive orders would be deemed invalid and the case would likely go to the Oregon Supreme Court.
The hearing lasted more than two hours, as attorneys presented their arguments.
The judge did not reach a decision today but dd say he plans to have a written decision soon, possibly tomorrow.
