BREAKING: Small Fire North of Brookings

There is a small 5 acre fire north of Brookings. Fire crews are worried about winds.

9:30 AM update: Coos Forest Protective Association confirms a 5-acre fire is north of Brookings. Crews have been on the scene since this morning. They are working hard to contain the fire and get it put out.  Newswatch 12 asked the Forest Protective Association if they are concerned about winds along the coast and they said that is a main concern of theirs. 

According to ODOT, northbound and southbound lanes on OR-255 (Carpenterville Hwy) are closed due to a 5-acre wildfire burning east of Carpenterville and north of Brookings.
