JOSEPHINE COUNTY, Ore. — Deputies responded to rural Josephine County after someone reported being shot in the hand while on a federal Bureau of Land Management (BLM) road, according to the Josephine County Sheriff's Office.
Just after 8 a.m. on Wednesday, deputies responded to the report of a person who said they had been shot along West Pickett Creek Road. The victim said that they had been near the 700-block of the BLM road when they were shot, receiving a "minor injury" to the hand.
"The victim was able to drive away to safety until Deputies arrived and secured the scene," the Sheriff's Office said.
Investigators from BLM have responded and taken the lead on the investigation, according to the Sheriff's Office.
