The details from the autopsy will not be released until it appears in front of a grand jury. This is from the officer involved shooting in Eagle Point. Today Newswatch 12's Leah Thompson spoke with the Chief of Police at Eagle Point to ask about an increase in crime.

Today two police officers from the Eagle Point Police Department are on leave after a police involved shooting at the Carl's Jr in Eagle Point last week.

The autopsy from that officer involved shooting is not available yet. The details will not be released until it is brought in front of a Grand jury.

Less than a week before that on September 15th Jesse Allen a suspect in the murder of Kaylynn Klosterman was found in Eagle Point by Medford Police Department Swat Team.

The small community has seen a lot of action this month. So today I spoke with Chief Darren May of the Eagle Point Police Department to see if crime in Eagle Point is increasing.

Chief Darren May says "we look into it see if there is anything to it. We check out stats, check what's going on. See how many arrests were made and as we discussed just prior before going on camera that doesn't appear to be true."

Chief May looked through the static's of crimes from this year compared to last year.

Chief May says "Arrest numbers are down for warrants, we do have more calls for service but as far as violence and anything violent crime or anything of that nature those numbers are actually down."

With two officers on leave from the officer involved shooting Chief May says there still isn't anything to worry about.

Chief May says "They are all outstanding officers. they've stepped up their volunteering to come in and work overtime to make sure that the coverage is there that the city needs."
