ASHLAND, Ore.- Today was Ashland's 10th Annual Green Debris drop off day at the Valley View Transfer Station for Ashland residents only. The Transfer Station will was open from 8:30AM - 3:30PM today, May 2, 2020 to collect flammable green debris like branches, leaves, needles, juniper, arborvitae, and mugo pine.
This year the Valley View Transfer Station said that they saw a lof of blackberry bushes being dropped off this year because of the Almeda fire last year and that they are happy to see more and more being removed through out the community.
"So this is the time of year where we're starting to dry out. It's starting to warm up and with that comes the inevitable fire season. So if you're able to clean up your property of excess flammable material prior to fire season, you're doing yourself a favor and reducing the ability of fire to ignite and spread around your home."- Katie Gibble, Fire Adapted Communities Coordinator for Ashland, Fire and Rescue.
