ASHLAND, Ore.-- Thousands plan to gather in Ashland Friday night of the annual Festival of Light.
There will be a grand parade, a visit from Santa, and and more than a million lights glittering downtown Ashland.
The festivities started early Friday as carolers sang to shoppers throughout the downtown area.
Live entertainment starts at 4:00 p.m. on the Brickroom Restaurant Balcony.
Santa's Parade starts a 5:00 p.m. The procession will start at the Ashland Public Library and end at the Plaza for the Grand Illumination. That's where Santa lights up more than a million lights. You can watch a live stream of the lighting on the Chamber's website.
Santa and Mrs. Claus will stick around after the lighting to meet with kids at the Black Swan Theatre.
Ashland isn't the only city celebrating the Christmas season Friday night.
Grants Pass is holding its annual Holiday Tree Lighting. It goes from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Santa arrives to help light up the tree at 6:00 p.m.
It's being held in the Historic District along 5th Street, between H and G streets. There will be a live concert and holiday festivities.
