TALENT, Ore. -- An Ashland Social Studies teacher made his Jeopardy debut, as dozens packed The Grotto Pizzeria in Talent to cheer him on.

The crowd cheered whenever Bob Julian answered a question correctly. He said it was special having them there.

"It means everything to me. These are people that I love and a part of my life," Julian said. "It’s just it’s great to see that so many people are willing to take time out this evening to support me."

He didn't win tonight, earning a total of $2,400. However, each teacher in the tournament received a $2,500 dollar grant from State Farm. Julian plans to use that money to buy new atlas books for the social studies teachers at Ashland Middle School.

"I’m really grateful to have that experience and it something always remember," Julian added.

You can watch Jeopardy on Newswatch 12 at 7 p.m.
