ASHLAND, Ore. -- The city of Ashland is celebrating the 4th of July with a unique theme this year: "Ashland: Empowering Wellness Through Community!" The city is getting the final details together for an all-day celebration focused on mind, body, and soul.
The event is hosted by the Ashland Chamber of Commerce and it says members are just focusing on getting the word and organizing last minute details before the big day.

Events will begin as early as 7:45 a.m. with the 4th of July 2 mile and 10k runs. That means drivers will see street closures by 8 a.m. or earlier.
The parade will take place beginning at 10 a.m. and that will also take up most the city's downtown. City officials say the parade route will start in Triangle Park, proceed down Siskiyou Boulevard to East Main and then finish down Water Street.
Then more than a hundred vendors will be setting up shop near Lithia Park along with other family-friendly entertainment.
The final fireworks display will take place at 10 p.m. Patrons can get their spot for the big show as early as 6 p.m. on July 3rd.
