ASHLAND, Ore. — The Ashland Police Department says it arrested a man on Monday after he allegedly fired a stolen shotgun from the roof of his house.
Officers responded just after 4:30 p.m. on Monday to the 300-block of Bridge Street after receiving reports that a man was up on a roof with a gun. When officers arrived, they identified the man as 22-year-old Torrin Acker, who lives at the house in question.
"The investigation revealed that Acker had been on the roof of his house and fired a single shot into the air from a short-barreled shotgun," Ashland Police said.
After taking Acker into custody, APD found that the shotgun had been reported stolen to the Jackson County Sheriff's Office. Acker was charged with reckless endangering, resisting arrest, unlawful use of a weapon, theft in the first degree, and possession of a prohibited weapon. His initial bail was set at $35,000.
