ASHLAND, Ore.-- We now know the lineup for this year's 17th annual Ashland Independent Film Festival.
It was a packed audience during the preview, and people walked away with pocket guides, and a feeling of excitement for what they'll be able to see next month during the festival.
Over 900 films were submitted this year and only 120 made the cut.
A team of 25 screeners and associate programmers narrow the films down to the best of the best.
AIFF Executive Director Richard Herskowitz says, "We got ranked by movie maker magazine one of the coolest film festivals in the world."
Filmmaker Susan Saladoff says, ""This is a great film festival and I have been to many, this festival is very homey, the audience is intelligent and enthusiastic."
Special guests were also announced, including Academy Award Winning Actor Chris Cooper and Seattle-Based Director Lynn Shelton.
And for the first time, a Medford venue has been added to the mix for screenings.
There will be some screenings at the Collaborative Theater Project.
Tickets go on sale to the public April 1st.
The festival runs from April 12th through the 16th.
