MEDFORD, Ore-- For more than a month, hospitalizations across Southern Oregon and Asante hospitals have skyrocketed. Just a few weeks ago Asante announced that more than 180 people were in their hospitals with COVID-19. But in recent weeks, hospitalizations have declined.
As of Sunday, Asante announced that hospitalizations are at their lowest point since early August, with 112 people hospitalization with COVID-19.
Even with hospitalizations down, COVID-19 deaths are still up. According to Asante, again across their locations, 140 deaths have been reported in the last 90 days, that's almost double the amount of deaths that Jackson County reported in 12 months of the pandemic.
In the last 30 days, there have been 14 deaths.
35 people continue to be in the ICU and IMCU and 15 people are also still on ventilators. Most of which are people that are unvaccinated.
Currently Jackson County has experienced 255 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic, most of which have come in 2021.
