MEDFORD, Ore. — Reports of an armed robbery at Flamingo's deli in the 2000 block of Roberts Road in Medford on Monday brought officers from the Medford Police Department (MPD) to the scene—only to find the suspect long gone.
According to MPD, and employee of Flamingo's saw a man enter the business armed with a handgun. The store was equipped with a 'panic button,' which the employee pressed immediately.

The suspect approached the counter and demanded that money be put into a backpack he was carrying. The employee put an undisclosed amount of money into the backpack, before the suspect fled on foot. Surveillance video showed the suspect heading eastbound through the parking lot before he disappeared.
There were several other witnesses in the business at the time of the robbery, but no injuries were reported. Those witnesses thought that the suspect might have been wearing some sort of disguise over his face.
MPD describes the suspect as a white man in his 40s or 50s, about 5'10" tall, with red or blonde shoulder-length hair. He was seen to be wearing a light-colored sweatshirt, blue jeans, dark tennis shoes with white soles, and a baseball hat that was light colored in the front and dark in the back.
Anyone with information regarding this robbery is asked to call the Medford Police Department’s Investigations Division. 541-774-2230.
