MEXICO-- At least 6 people are dead because of a ruptured gasoline pipeline explosion. This happened last night in Tlahuelilpan a town about 80 miles north of Mexico City.

Governor Omar Fayad said at least 76 others are injured.

State oil company Pemex said an investigation is under way. The company initially said the explosion was caused by illegal taps into the pipeline and Fayad called on the community not to steal gasoline.

The fire resulting from the pipeline explosion has been extinguished and rescue teams are recovering bodies.
