UPDATE: Missing Oregon Woman and Child Found Dead

Oregon State Police say a woman and boy missing since Wednesday have been found dead in the North Umpqua River near Hwy 138 at mile post 44.

UPDATE:  Oregon State Police say a woman and boy missing since Wednesday have been found dead in the North Umpqua River near Hwy 138 at mile post 44.

Oregon State Police have identified the woman as Sandra Mincher, age 68 of Dillard, OR.  The boy has not been identified as he is a juvenile.  

Emergency responders located the 2005 Mercury Sable that had for unknown reasons left the roadway, struck a tree, and was partially in the river.  OSP and Douglas County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the vehicle around noon on Thursday.

UPDATE: A woman and boy missing since Wednesday have been found, according to Klamath Community College (KCC).

KCC posted the update on their Twitter after 4 p.m. on Thursday, thanking everyone who shared or spread the message.

NewsWatch 12 contacted Oregon State Police (OSP) after seeing the missing report from KCC on Thursday morning. OSP confirmed that the woman and boy were missing, but said that they would be issuing a press release with more details soon.

A press release did not materialize, so the woman's identity and details on the disappearance never became public, beyond what KCC initially reported.

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — A woman and young boy are considered missing from Klamath Falls after they were last seen driving out of town yesterday.

Klamath Community College (KCC) first announced the news on Twitter Thursday morning at 10:15 a.m. In the tweet, Klamath Community College said that the woman was a "member of our KCC family."

KCC described the woman as 68-years-old, and said that she was traveling with an 11-year-old boy. They said that the woman was last seen heading west out of Klamath Falls at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, driving a Mercury Sable.

Oregon State Police (OSP) have confirmed that these people are missing, and will be releasing more details on the case shortly.
