MEDFORD, Ore.-- Police say 44-year-old Justin Rollins died Saturday after a crash involving another car and his motorcycle on North Phoenix Road at South Village Drive.

NewsWatch 12 spoke to people who live in the area. They said they see crashes on that stretch of the road often.

Brenda Walleman was working in her home when she heard a noise coming from down the street.

"I heard a ‘thunk.’ I looked out my window and saw cars breaking which they don't normally do here as everybody speeds by so I grabbed my phone to see if there was an accident because we've had so many," Walleman said.

She said she saw multiple people get out of their cars to try and help the motorcyclist on the ground.

"I just called out and asked if they needed a first-aid kit even though emergency services were on their way since there were already so many people here and they said no they didn't need anything,” Walleman added.

Medford police say 44-year-old motorcyclist Justin Rollins died after he was taken to the hospital. The driver in the other car was not hurt. Walleman has only lived on north phoenix road for a year and a half and she can remember at least five different accidents. She said many have to do with speed.

"It's amazing how much people don't realize speed is a factor in crashes," Walleman added.

The speed limit on North Phoenix Road is 35 miles per hour but Walleman said she rarely sees drivers following it.
