MEDFORD, Ore.-- Medford Police are looking for a suspect they say robbed a bank, stabbed a man, and stole a car Thursday afternoon.
We’re hearing from the victim in that stabbing.
Richard 'Tiny' Robertson says, "Didn't have time to be scared."

Richard Robertson, who goes by Tiny, is safe at home.

He talked to NewsWatch 12 just hours after being stabbed twice.

Richard 'Tiny' Robertson says, "I happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time."

The transportation supervisor for Grace Christian School says he was waiting to pick up a teacher.

It was about 3:45pm, and police say the suspect had just robbed a bank.

Then the suspect went to the school parking lot where he tried to get a getaway car.

He first tried to get a pickup truck which Tiny says belongs to the janitor.

Richard 'Tiny' Robertson says, "The janitor threw a chair at him, he saw my window down, door unlocked, and jumped in on the passenger side and told me to drive."

At first Tiny said no, but then saw the knife, which the suspect struck his arm with.

Richard 'Tiny' Robertson says, "Who know what this guy was going to do, but he was capable of taking a life if he needed to."

As he was getting out to give the man his car, the suspect stabbed him again, this time in the chest.

He says his interaction with the suspect lasted only a minute.

Richard 'Tiny' Robertson says, "The guy wasn't stoppable, he jumped in the driver's seat and took off. Things are starting to happen in small places no matter where you're at. Unfortunately, like Sunday and the killings in Texas, small town, small town. People think it won't take place, but we have all sorts of crimes here, this week has been full of crimes in the Valley."

And he says if you’re sitting alone in your car, lock it.

Richard 'Tiny' Robertson says, "Even sitting there idly at a shopping center or something like that, you lock the car door, so no one can get in. That's one thing I want people to take away."

Tiny tells me he's hoping to get his car back now that police have recovered it.

He says he'll get it after it's done being processed.

He also plans to be business as usual Monday.
