Suspect Arrested After Being Shot at by Citizen

The Medford Police Department said at around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, MPD responded to a report of a shot being fired near North Pacific Highway. When police arrived, they said they found that no one had been shot, but someone had been shot at.

MEDFORD, Ore. -- The Medford Police Department said at around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, MPD responded to a report of a shot being fired near North Pacific Highway. When police arrived, they said they found that no one had been shot, but someone had been shot at.

Police said a female victim was approached by Soren Stiehl, 50. Medford Police said Stiehl has a long violent history with police. They said Stiehl was disorderly and threatening to the female victim who did not know him. The female pulled a gun and fired at Stiehl, believing her life was in danger.

Stiehl was found nearby and arrested for Disoderly Conduct and Trespassing.
