WILLAMETTE, Ore.--The North Medford Black Tornado are into the 6A playoffs as the No. 4 seed from the Southwest Conference for a second year in a row.
After a week that included Black Tornado personnel questioning the ethical validity of Willamette forfeiting against powerhouse Sheldon, only to turn around and have enough players to field a team against a lesser opponent the next week, North Medford thoroughly dismantled the Wolverines 45-19.
The loss likely eliminates Willamette from playoff contention, unless it manages to squeak into one of the final eight at-large bids. The loss also ends its time in the Southwest Conference, as the Wolverines will head back to class 5 for the 2018 school year.
The Black Tornado will hit the road for their first-round playoff game next week as the No. 24 seed, traveling to Jesuit High School to take on the No. 9 Crusaders.
