Jackson County reports highest ever single day new case count

The number of cases for Sunday, July 19th is record for Jackson County.

MEDFORD, Ore. -- Today Jackson County is reporting a spike in the number of new Coronavirus cases. Jackson County Public Health is reporting 16 new cases for today, Sunday July 19th. 

NewsWatch 12 did confirm with Jackson County Public Health officials that today's new case count is the highest number of new cases reported in a single day. The previous record was reported on July 2nd with 15 new cases. 

The 16 new cases bring the county's total number of cases to 238. No one has died from the Coronavirus in Jackson County.

There have been new cases every day for at least the last week. Below you can see how many new cases were reported each day this past week, including today.

  • Sunday, July 19: 16 new cases
  • Saturday, July 18: 7 new cases
  • Friday, July 17: 12 new cases
  • Thursday, July 16: 8 new cases
  • Wednesday, July 15: 9 new cases
  • Tuesday, July 14: 7 new cases
  • Monday, July 13: 3 new cases
  • Sunday, July 12: 2 cases 

Jackson County Public Health says there are currently 81 active cases in the county. Right now the age range of 20 to 29 year old's has the most active cases, with 15 active cases. There are also five active cases in the 0 to 9 age range.
