MEDFORD, Ore. — Tickets for the 10th annual Dancing With the Rogue Valley Stars competition went on sale Thursday, with two of NewsWatch 12's-own set to hit the dance floor on November 10.

Proceeds from the competition benefit Sparrow Clubs of Southern Oregon — an organization dedicated to empowering local students with community service projects while connecting them with a child in need of support for particular medical hardships. A portion of the proceeds will also go towards promoting the art of ballroom dance in local communities.

This year, NewsWatch 12's Rachel Tiede and Jake Garcia take the dance floor, partnered with professional dance instructors. They'll be going up against nine other community leaders from throughout the Rogue Valley and their partners — competing in front of a panel of judges and a live local audience.

Awards will be given for Judge’s Choice (1st, 2nd, and 3rd place) and People’s Choice (1st, 2nd, and 3rd place). The “Shining Star” award goes to the Star who raises the most money for Sparrow Clubs.

The event takes place November 10 in the North Medford High School auditorium at 1900 N Keene Way Drive in Medford. Tickets are available for a 2 p.m. Matinee Show and the main event — the Evening Show at 7 p.m., where the judges will be making their decisions.
