Local non-profit begins renovations for local Grants Pass homeowner

Grants Pass -      Today Rebuilding Together Rogue Valley began their ‘Dreams of Home’ initiative to renovate the homes of people in need. The non-profit’s mission is to provide essential home repairs and accessibility alterations.

The Grants Pass homeowner is getting her front porch and back patio remodeled, as well as safety locks installed on her doors. Guaranteeing the non-profit’s mission of providing safe and healthy housing to Jackson and Josephine Counties.

Manager of Operations and Outreach with Rebuilding Together Rogue Valley Kendyl Berkowitz says doing this for someone in need is great for the community and knows how much people appreciate living in a safe space.

“She wants to enjoy her home and stay here as long as she can – as safely as she can – and that’s our goal that’s why we’re here,” says Berkowitz.

Rebuilding Together received a grant through Fortune Brand, they were able to help with providing materials and skilled volunteers from Masterbrand Cabinets.

Engineer and Maintenance Manager with Masterbrand Cabinets in Grants Pass, Nick Rukke says this program is a great way to give back to the community.

“We want to support the community and give back and we also have several employees here who are supporting and volunteering and it is a good opportunity for them to give back as well,” says Rukke,

Together these repairs are making a huge difference in these homeowners’ lives.
