BONANZA, Ore. — Multiple schools within the Klamath County School District halted classes early on Monday as winter weather conditions increasingly impact the region.
KCSD put out an initial notice at 1:30 p.m. encouraging parents to come pick up their students at school early if possible. With a few exceptions, school buses were expected to run at their regular times. The District said that schools would contact parents with more school-specific information. All afterschool activities were canceled.
Bonanza schools were released even earlier due to a power outage, with buses running two hours early. Lost River, Malin, and Merrill schools were released at 1:45 p.m. and were running between an hour and an hour and 20 minutes early.
Gilchrist and Chiloquin schools had classes canceled on Monday morning due to the forecast.
This is a developing story and will be updated with more details as they emerge.
