CASA receives fundraising support from legal professionals

MEDFORD, Ore. -- According to Development and Media Manager for CASA of Jackson County, Erin Carpenter, CASA of Jackson County is alway in need of fundraising.

GLA/ALA, a chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators, is putting on a live reading of  'SEVEN', a documentary play conceived by Carol Mack and Produced and Directed by Luci Hamilton, to raise money for a number or organizations, including CASA organizations across the nation.

Hamiliton tells Newswatch 12, "CASA is one of those particular entities in all communities, all over the country, that need assistance locally and across the country. It was important to have CASA as one of the main organizations to do this work for."

First Legal is a sponsor with GLA/ALA and the Executive Vice President, Don Hoefnagel tells Newswatch 12, "Given through this event that we're doing, 'SEVEN', is a global support of women's rights and we're just glad to be a small part of it." 

On Saturday, July 31 from 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM PDT at Holy Nativity Episcopal Church in Los Angeles, CA, people can watch 'SEVEN', as it tells the true stories of seven women who bravely fought for the well-being of women, families, and children around the globe: in Russia, protecting women from domestic violence; in Cambodia, rescuing girls from human trafficking; in Guatemala, giving voice to the poor; in Afghanistan, empowering rural women; in Nigeria and Pakistan, fighting for women’s education and rights; and in Northern Ireland, promoting peace and equality.

There will be a special guest appearance by Award-Winning Romance Author, Narrator and Feminist Mr. Joe Arden.
