MEDFORD, Ore. — As the Rogue Valley homeless deal with the cold winter temperatures, one community group is hoping to help.

This winter, two Rogue Valley men have died of hypothermia. Reports of these deaths are prompting one Rogue Valley woman to change her step to help local families in need.

Nichole Shaw is turning to her brother-in law’s idea of “Fill A Truck” and her sister’s Zumba studio to hold a “Fill A Truck For Warmth” Zumba event.

The event is asking for new or gently-used blankets or sleeping bags to get into a two hour Zumba class. All of the donations will go to the Medford Gospel Mission.

You can take part in the “Fill A Truck For Warmth” Zumba event this Saturday at Hoover Elementary’s School Gym in Medford. It’s happening from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A new or gently-used blanket or sleeping bag gets you in!
