MEDFORD, Ore. – Senator Wyden was in Southern Oregon on Thursday to talk healthcare and jobs.
The Senator toured the Nursing and Dental Program at Rogue Community College Thursday morning. RCC recently received a $3 million federal grant that will help it train hundreds of more students in the healthcare field.
Wyden says millions more Americans will be eligible for health services under the Affordable Health Care Act, and says RCC is paving the way for more medical jobs in the future.
“Not everybody gets a grant like this. This is, in effect, the federal government saying, that here at Rogue Community College, we’ve got folks that really know how to innovate,” said Senator Wyden.
The money will help to hire more teachers and increase the number of students in the program.
