JACKSONVILLE, Ore. – The 12th annual “World of Wine” kicked off Tuesday with one extra night added to the event schedule.
Tuesday night was for sponsors celebrated the more than 200 wines ready to be poured for guests through the week. This year the World of Wine is partnering with Asante Foundation’s Children’s Miracle Network. Every dollar from the event will go to the Children’s Miracle Network neonatal intensive care unit, the family birth centers and the pediatric department. Wine sensory, evaluation and education classes start Wednesday and organizers said you don’t have to be an expert to take a lesson.
“It’s a great opportunity to just learn more about you know why we drink it why we, why we sniff it, why we sip it, what we’re looking for, so beginner or experienced it works well” Les Martin, Chairman for the World of Wine said.
Two Masters of Wine will judge this year’s competition between more than 50 Southern Oregon wineries. Guests will have the opportunity to meet the wine makers at Saturday’s grand tasting. You can find the whole schedule for World of Wine 2014 here.
