Woman’s Death Under Investigation

MEDFORD, Ore. — Medford Police are investigating the death of a 20-year-old woman.

On Friday morning, Medford Police officers and medical personnel were dispatched to a residence in the 1000 block of Kristen Drive for a 20-year-old woman unconscious and not breathing. Medical personnel were unable to revive her and she was declared dead at the scene.

The initial police investigation found that the woman possibly overdosed on narcotic pills, which are prescribed for pain. A toxicology test will need to be done before this can be confirmed. There is no evidence of foul play at this point.

The case remains under investigation. The woman’s identity is not being released at this time, pending notification of family.

According to the 2012 Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Medical Examiner report, 26 people died in Jackson County in 2012 as a result of an accidental overdose. While the involved drugs varied, most of the cases involved narcotic medication.

I feel so sorry for the family the same happened to our family back in july 2012 my prayers go out to you.
