CENTRAL POINT, Ore. — A Central Point woman is facing felony charges and is in the hospital, accused of leading police on a high speed chase down Interstate 5.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office says it all started when 26-year-old Tasha Dietrich stole a pick-up truck from an acquaintance who was offering her a ride. It happened around 4:30 on Tuesday in Gold Hill.
Deputies say they then caught up with the Central Point woman and the stolen pick-up on I-5 near milepost 27. They say that’s when Dietrich led sheriff’s deputies on a chase. Police say the chase ended when Dietrich rear-ended another vehicle.
The driver of the other vehicle was sent to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Dietrich was also taken to the hospital.
