Witnesses Describe Possible Fire Suspect

MEDFORD, Ore. — Another small downtown fire broke out around 9 p.m. on Wednesday night, but police are hopeful that the incident may give them the break they need.

Officials responded to the reports of a fire in the doorway of a warehouse building in the 400 block of South Fir Street. Police and fire officials found a small pile of debris that appeared to have been set on fire.

Medford Police says that they received reports from two witnesses that they saw a person in the area at the time the fire was set. The suspect is described as an adult white male who was about 5’11.” The man had a thin build and shoulder-length or nearly shoulder-length dark hair with no facial hair. The witnesses also reported that he was wearing dark pants, a light brown short sleeved shirt, and a dark colored beanie hat.

Medford Fire officials say the fire was suspicious and they are investigating whether it was connected to 15 other suspicious fires in the area within the last month.
