ASHLAND, Ore. — Businesses in Ashland’s Plaza are giving mixed reviews after feeling the effects of the movie “Wild.”
The movie filmed in the Plaza for a day, shutting down the area for the most part. Crews were also there beforehand setting up and preparing scenes.
Louie’s Restaurant says their business grew by 75% over the year before, but other businesses say they lost nearly an entire day’s worth of customers.
“We got to meet a lot of new friends. And business was way up from the same day last year,” said Louie’s Restaurant Manager, Tom Dubois.
Some of the plaza businesses, including Umi Sushi, are now requesting reimbursement from the film company. That is apparently something that is budgeted in to the filming process, but representatives of the film did not immediately respond to confirm.
